Stony Brook to Sunnyvale

cross country
My buddy Joy is setting off next week for California and starting his career at Yahoo. And he is riding his Kawasaki Concours! I think it deserves some extra exposure and posted his route here. How I wish that I can ride too. Anyway, best wishes to Joy and for his new life under the California sunshine. Bravo!

Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer

The Big Apple Chorus is a tradition at South Street Seaport, downtown Manhattan. We visit it every year, during the holiday season. Take your time visiting the nice cute little shops around the area before the singing begins.

Next Door

Next Door is a Cafe with live Jazz performance. I guess "Next Door" means next door to the "Blue Note". It is actually in the same block of Blue Note Jazz Cafe, with a much smaller scale and more intimate invironment. Compared to the Next Door, Blue Note is more like for tourists. The band tonight is awesome, with a fantastic drummer. Oh, yes, their pizza is amazing. The smoked salmon pizza with cheese is really smoking. Hint: performance at 9pm & 11:15pm, reservation not necessary, but table 5/6 is really nice and cozy at the corner.

Winning the Nano

Winning the Nano, originally uploaded by willowyangcn.

I have never won any raffle or lottery before. But tonight I won a Nano at the company Xmas party, and it is exactly what I want. So for me, it is more about good luck than the ipod itself. It says a big year in 2006!

Taking picture for Olive Tree Cafe

The Olive Tree Cafe is located at the West Village, Manhattan. It is one of the most famous Cafe at the village. Ava is the current owner of the cafe and wonderful sweet person. She is so sweet that Fracesco said "I would like to spread her on the bread and have her as breakfast..." One of the unique part of the Cafe is the table, they are made of black stone just like a chalk board. And every table is served with a bowl of white chalk. You can draw/write while enjoying the food. The magic part is that the brilliant idea is from the very beginning of the cafe, some 30 years ago, and the tables have been there for ages! This is also a special place for Francesco. His very first resturant visited in New York. He murmured, "The history is repeating itself."
